While “Fantastic Four” fizzled on the big screen, the small screen was delighted by news from Netflix that it has given the thumbs-up for a second season of its newest break-out hit series “Sense8.” This dark and grizzly sci-fi show has already broken all Netflix’s expectations and was one of the SDCC’s most buzzed about new entries.
Thousands of horror fans have complained about the film “Del Playa” stating its storyline was a little too realistic and that it followed the real-life murder of six victims in the 2014 Santa Barbara, California shootings. Those wishing to see the film delayed or removed from theaters have gathered about 20,000 signatures on an online petition.
Hollywood lost another of its staple of classic character actors on Friday. Terrance Evans, noted for such landmark films as the rebooted “Star Trek,” “Terminator 2,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Pale Rider” has died at age 81.
One final bit of TV news: The continuing saga called “American Horror Story” has announced its cast for the upcoming FX series subtitled “Hotel.” Singer/songwriter Lady Gaga will appear as the proprietor of an interesting but bizarre Los Angeles hotel. Joining her are the award winning actress Kathy Bates (Misery, Something About Schmidt), Sarah Paulson (12 Years A Slave, Serenity), Denis O’Hare (True Blood), Angela Bassett (Malcolm X, Green Lantern), Wes Bentley (Interstellar), Chloë Sevigny (Bloodline, American Psycho) and others. Look for it to debut on the FX Network October 7, 2015.
